Your Privacy First
At Parity, we believe your financial data belongs to you. We designed Parity to help couples manage shared expenses efficiently while prioritizing the security and privacy of your information.
Data Collection and Storage
To provide real-time syncing and secure backup, Parity uses Google Firebase as our backend infrastructure.
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a unique user identifier to authenticate you and link you with your partner.
- Financial Data: Your income, expense entries, and split ratios are stored securely on Firebase servers. This allows your data to sync instantly between you and your partner's devices.
- Analytics & Diagnostics: We may collect anonymous usage data and crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics) to help us improve app stability and fix bugs. This data is not linked to your specific financial entries.
Data Security
Your data is encrypted in transit (using HTTPS/TLS) and at rest on Google's secure servers.
- No Third-Party Sales: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal financial data to third-party advertisers or marketing firms.
- Access Control: Your financial data is private to you and the partner you explicitly link with in the app. As the developer, we maintain restricted administrative access to the database strictly for troubleshooting, customer support, and essential system maintenance. We will never read or alter your personal financial entries unless explicitly requested by you to resolve an issue.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only as long as you have an active account.
- Account Deletion: You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can do this directly within the app by navigating to Settings > Manage Household > Delete All Data. This action permanently removes your financial records from our servers.
Service Providers
We use the following third-party service provider to assist us in operating the app:
- Google Firebase: Used for authentication, database storage, and analytics. You can read more about Google's privacy practices here.
